Aston University Employability Week

Aston University planned a week of events for all Year 2 undergraduate students, focussing on improving student employability through the development of practical and transferrable skills. They aimed to provide students with opportunities to gain key skills required by employers; skills which they may not otherwise have the opportunity to acquire during their studies.

We were appointed by Aston University for the speaker sourcing, set design and project management of the Aston Accelerator conference - one of their key events held for 2500 students which took place at the ICC, Birmingham.

It was our job to source the relevant headline speakers for the conference which would inspire and engage the audience and would blend their own inspirational stories based on their own experiences with some valuable lessons about career building in the labour markets of the future. Our in-house team managed speakers from start to finish from initial booking to arranging transport, accommodation and full speaker management on the day.

We also provided the stage management and set design for the Aston Accelerator conference. With most of the budget being allocated to the booking of speakers, we had a tricky job of providing a standout vibrant stage design along with providing the furniture, lighting and cameras for the 3 large screens on the stage.

“This is the first time that Aston University has worked with an independent production agency to deliver an event of this scale and we are delighted to have commissioned Blackberry, who offered an unbeatable depth of expertise and experience. We’re keen to deliver distinctive, innovative and memorable experiences for our students to support them in kickstarting their careers. Accelerator is very important to us and we’re very pleased that Blackberry will help us to achieve our vision.”
